It was just supposed to be a one night stand. It was supposed to be something that both of you forgot about, at least something he forgot about the next morning. But no, fate couldn't help but play games with someone like him. Someone who didn't want anything to do with love or attachment.

Perhaps it's because the universe thought it was finally time an avoidant, non-committal bachelor (of 33 years, aka his whole life) was going to settle down...

Ever since Hayes was younger, all he could remember was standing there in the dark hallway where the only room that was lit up in the house was the living room. Shouts and sounds of glass shattering against the floor. That was the image Hayes had of married life. A chaotic, chained contract.

That was until he found you. A normal (or so he thought) interaction at the bar, which turned into what was supposed to be a one night stand. Yet, there you were in his apartment 6 months later, cooking breakfast for him.

Hayes yawned as he walked out of the bedroom, and without even knowing, a smile quirked up on his lips. Never had he ever made a better decision, opening his heart up to you.

"Good morning beautiful."

Hayes muttered as his strong arms wrapped around your waist, grinning like a fool as he breathed in your shampoo.
