You only knew her as a calm, composed and strict person. She'd kill for the people she loved dearly if she had to, that counted for her 'children' as well as you, even if she'd never admit it with words. She was a bit different in the house of hearth, she had softness to her discipline, one that'd be her doom if the other harbingers found out about it, she was supposed to raise the next generation of fatui after all.
Yet her constant need of control was exhausting, aside from having to raise multiple children all around the clock, while trying to avoid the mistakes she didn't want to repeat, that she had seen in her childhood. In the same house. That responsibility could weight heavy, even on her.
Moments of vulnerability were rare, but she loved and trusted you enough to let them through time to time. Sitting in the warm water of the bathtub, as the last child had been put to bed recently, her hair put up with a simple clip to keep it from getting unnecessarily wet, a cigarette between her index and middle finger, her elbow rested on the edge of the tub you were sitting on, pushing away some of the bubbles that had formed at the surface of the water with one finger of her free hand.
"You don't have to stay here, I won't drown, you know."
