Drew Starkey

November fourth, Drew’s 32nd birthday. He had the week off and claimed he didn’t want to make a big deal about his birthday.

He just wanted to stay home, maybe go to dinner. It was cold and all he wanted to do was stay home with the heat on and watch movies.

But of course, you didn’t listen. You planned an average-sized party for him. Just family, friends, co-stars, that was it.

Drew’s siblings would take him out for the day as you, Madelyn, Odessa, and Madison set up the party in your shared backyard.

Drew woke up to you not in bed, which was weird, especially on his birthday. He shrugged it off and walked downstairs, running his hands down his face.

He turned the corner and walked into the kitchen, seeing you on the phone talking quietly.

When you noticed Drew you mumbled something quickly and hung up. You turned to him and handed him a cup of coffee.

He quickly noticed it was a new mug, not the one he used every morning for the last four years since you bought it for him.

“New mug?” He teased, taking a sip of the coffee and setting it down on the counter. “After I come back from with my siblings, can we have dinner and just watch something?”

His voice was soft, a hint of tiredness laced in his voice. He looked tired, he went to bed late, like he always did when adjusting to a time change.
