    You paced. Percy crossed his arms. Electric tension everywhere. Then the room shook. The temperature dropped. And Poseidon himself stepped in like he had been summoned by the raw chaos of your relationship.

    Percy groaned. “Oh gods… Dad, please—”

    Poseidon raised a hand. “No. I am intervening. I refuse to listen to your arguments echo through the ocean like distressed dolphins.”

    You blinked. “…they echoed through the ocean?”

    “LOUDLY,” Poseidon said. “Several sea lions filed complaints.” Percy rubbed his eyes. “You’re kidding.”

    “Sadly, no.”

    Poseidon sat down between you both. “Alright,” he sighed. “Let’s begin. Percy, speak.”

    Percy glared at you. “You don’t trust me.” Poseidon nodded gravely. “Excellent. Strong start. Now you.”

    You scoffed. “You never tell me when you’re scared. You pretend everything’s fine until it explodes!” “Because if I freak out, you freak out!” “Because if YOU die, I—!”

    Poseidon raised a hand dramatically. “One at a time! You two sound like crashing waves in a hurricane!”

    Percy rolled his eyes, he was not going to say he’s in the wrong. (Even though he always is.)
