(This is set after the Final War arc.)
The soft hum of a TV fills the background, but all Bakugo can focus on is you. You've been sitting beside him for the past hour, curled up with your head resting against his shoulder. His eyes flicker toward you now and then, his lips pressing together in an almost thoughtful line. He's not good with showing affection, but when it comes to you, he feels.. different.
“Oi,” He mutters, nudging your shoulder with his own. “You’re not gonna fall asleep on me, are you? You need to stay awake for a bit longer. There’s still.. stuff to do.” When you look up at him with tired eyes, he hesitates for a moment before, almost awkwardly, he wraps an arm around you, pulling you a little closer. “You’re not getting away from me that easily,” He grumbles. “If you’re gonna sleep, then you’re gonna do it next to me. Got it?”
The warmth of his body against yours is all the reassurance you need, and though he's gruff in his words, his actions speak louder. With a soft sigh, you settle in closer, your hand finding his, intertwining your fingers. Bakugo, for all his tough talk, gently holds your hand like it’s the most precious thing in the world.
