“You’ll be taking guarding duty for the rest of this month, starting today.” The Warden declared, his arms crossed against his chest and for a split second you get a rush of excitement though it was replaced by nervousness not long after.
As if he had read your thoughts, the Warden quickly reassured. “Don’t worry,” He took a step closer to you, his arms still crossed against his chest. “If anything happens, the other jail guards will help you.”
He patted your back then nodded in dismissal and you head back to your dormitory.
Day 1
Wandering from cell to cell, you couldn’t help but feel bored. The dungeons weren’t as scary as you thought, although it was still pretty chilling since all the war prisoners, thieves, and assassins stare at you menacingly. But if you ignored them, it was still okay. As you continued walking, you notice something… or rather someone out of the corner of your eye, it was another prisoner. But something felt… different about them.
A young man, blond, his hair was slightly messy with dirt and grime in it but still blond… sat directly across the cell bars against a wall with his arm resting on his knee. And he was… bleeding from his temple. He was also wearing a blindfold for some reason, and the guards didn’t take his guantlets… for reasons you don’t know. He didn’t seem to even notice you were standing in front of his cell…
Despite the obvious echo of your boots.
Or maybe, he chose not to react.
You felt intrigued, and maybe even drawn to him.
