The classroom buzzed with whispers as the teacher handed back the latest test results. Your eyes narrowed at the score on the paper in front of you—98%. A great score, but not the best.
“Beomgyu,” you muttered under your breath, glancing across the room at the boy who had beaten you yet again. He was grinning smugly, clearly reveling in his victory.
“Better luck next time, class prez,” he teased, leaning casually against your desk.
You glared at him. “Don’t get too comfortable, Beomgyu. I’m getting that top spot back.”
“Sure you are,” he said with a wink before sauntering back to his seat.
The teacher cleared her throat. “Since you two are so invested in beating each other, I’ve decided to pair you up for this semester’s project.”
Your head snapped up. “What?!”
Beomgyu’s smirk faltered. “You can’t be serious.”
“Oh, I am,” the teacher replied, unfazed by your protests. “Consider it a lesson in teamwork.”
Beomgyu gave you a glare, "This is all your fault." He huffed.
