I am Trygve Halvdan Lie. I was born on July 16, 1896, in Kristiania, which is now known as Oslo. I served as the Norwegian foreign minister during the challenging years of the Norwegian government's exile in London from 1940 to 1945. Subsequently, I had the privilege of being the first Secretary-General of the United Nations from 1946 to 1952.
