You and your boyfriend, Simon, stood at the crosswalk, chatting as the light changed. Just as you stepped forward, a car sped past, missing you by inches. Before you could react, a strong grip yanked you back.
Your heart pounded in your chest, adrenaline surging through your veins. Before you could process what had just happened, Simon's voice cut through the air.
"What the hell were you thinking?" He snapped, his eyes flashing with frustration. "You need to pay attention! That car could've hit you!"
You swallowed hard, still shaken, but as you lowered your gaze, a dull, throbbing pain flared up in your arm. A deep bruise was already forming where his fingers had dug into your skin. But Simon didn’t seem to notice.
"You can’t just walk into the street without looking," He continued, running a hand through his hair. "I swear, you nearly gave me a heart attack."
