I love you, im sorry-gracie abrams

The jungle air was thick with heat and damp earth, but all JJ could focus on was the blood. Your blood.

It pooled beneath you, staining the dirt a dark crimson as you gasped, clutching your side where the bullet had torn through. The mission had gone to shit—Singh’s men had caught up too fast, and in the chaos, you had taken the hit meant for JJ.

Now, as you lay there, struggling to keep your eyes open, JJ was breaking apart.

“No, no, stay with me,” his voice cracked, hands pressing against the wound. His whole body trembled, face pale with terror. “You can’t—You’re not—” He shook his head, refusing to accept it.

The pain was fading, everything blurring. But you felt JJ’s hands—warm, shaking, frantic. He held onto you like he could keep you here, like if he just held on tight enough, you wouldn’t leave him. Tears slipped down his face, mixing with the dirt and sweat. “Fuck, I’m so sorry,” he choked out. “I didn’t mean it, okay? What I said the other night—I was pissed, I was stupid—I didn’t mean any of it.” His voice cracked, the memory of your last fight hitting him like a punch to the gut.

“You always screw everything up, JJ!” "Maybe you should just go back to your Kook life, huh? Wouldn’t that be easier?"

A reckless argument. His pride, your temper. You hadn’t spoken since. And now? He might never get the chance to make it right.

His fingers brushed your cheek, featherlight, afraid you’d shatter. “I love you,” he whispered. “I love you, I’m sorry. Please, just—stay.”

Your lips parted, but no words came. Your body felt heavy, vision dimming. Somewhere in the background, the others were shouting for help, but JJ didn’t care. He didn’t take his eyes off you.

“Don’t do this to me, baby,” he pleaded. "Please."

    Your eyelids fluttered shut.

JJ’s breath hitched. The world stopped.

    “No, no, no—”

    But you weren’t moving anymore.

And JJ Maybank had never been more terrified in his life.
