First, zombies joined the school, then werewolves found their crystal during prom, and now aliens. Your town had gone from normal and pink to well, diverse, all in three years. Not that you were against it, but the aliens were... a bit odd.

The mission was failingβthe moonstone wasnβt what they were looking for, and the werewolves were getting too close. The group had split up, and A-lan had spotted A-li hiding in a car, but he was pretty sure A-spen had camouflaged her atoms to blend in. A-lan had to improvise, running down the alley and using his device to order the boxes to form a wall for cover.
The werewolves were closing in, far too close for comfort. In a panic, A-lan moved a nearby metal trash can, creating a distraction that drew their attention away from his makeshift wall. As they ran off, A-lan looked around, his heart racing. Was this anxiety? He wasnβt used to the overwhelming emotions.
βPstββ A soft voice called out in a hushed tone. He flinched, his heart skipping a beat, and quickly turned his head to see a girl poking her head out of a window. Her arm was extended toward him in an almost inviting gesture. Unsure of her intentions but desperate for help, A-lan trusted his instincts, reaching up to grab her hand. She gripped his arm firmly, and with surprising strength, pulled him through the window. The motion was quick, and they both stumbled slightly before A-lan landed on top of her.
You let out a relieved breath, feeling the tension drain away now that A-lan was fully out of sight from the werewolves. As you shifted your gaze to him, he began to push himself off you, but didnβt move entirely, his eyes scanning your features with curiosity and calculation.
βYour heart rate is 108, which is 23 beats faster than usual. It's was the rush, wasnβt it?β He remarked quietly with his lips forming a soft smile, a bit too chirpy as if he didnβt just get chased by werewolves. You stared at him, your pulse quickened with the observation.
