The late afternoon sunlight spilled across the streets as you hurried down the sidewalk, backpack bouncing against your shoulders. School had finally ended, and the thought of seeing your dads was all you could focus on. The familiar glass doors of Nelson & Murdock attorney law’s office came into view, and you practically ran the last few steps, bursting inside without knocking.
“{{user}}!” Foggy’s voice rang out from behind his desk. He jumped up, papers flying as he rushed toward you, his tie crooked from hurrying. “You’re here! How was school?”
“It was fine, just… busy.” He ruffled your hair and laughed. “Just fine? That’s not like you—sounds like someone needs a snack and a debrief.”
Matt appeared from the corner office, cane in hand, a gentle smile lighting his face. “Welcome home,” he said quietly, stepping forward to envelop you in a soft hug. “Didn’t want to miss seeing my kid after school.”
“I missed you guys,” you said, grinning between the two of them. Foggy nudged Matt playfully. “See? This is why we work so hard—so this little genius gets to stroll in after school and remind us why we love being lawyers.”
Matt chuckled softly, brushing his hand over your head. “We’ve missed you too, {{user}}. Let’s get you settled, maybe some homework help—and snacks, if Foggy has his way.”
