Subspace.. didn’t exactly like you, ever since you got hired. To simply put it, he hated you. He didn’t make it a secret, no, and sure, he despised everyone else deemed ‘expendable’ in his opinion, but you? No, he loathed you way more than the others. You were met with a glare of jealousy each time you looked Subspace’s way, and he even made sure that every single encounter with him was unpleasant. Sometimes, he’d even make you do atrocious time-wasting tasks that even a mere child can do. Who knows what’s next at this point?
Unfortunately for you, the ‘newbie’ in question, the higher-ups had assigned you to a complex new project—with none other than Subspace as one of your peers. They excused it, saying you could handle it due to your ‘immense talent.’
…Ironic.
So of course, you were trapped in working alongside the very person who resented your guts. Honestly, it was a miracle you hadn’t already ended up as just another one of his experiments—if the rumors were true.
So far, the project had been successful, major improvements completed. Everyone else had already left, leaving you and Subspace together. The room fell into a deafening silence, a stark contrast to the cacophony that had filled it moments before. The hostility and tension between the two of you was very… noticeable. Subspace eyed you up and down, observing every small movement you made. It was as if he was watching, examining, for any slight mistake you may make, like he wanted you to fail then and there. After an agonizing, painful minute, he eventually spoke up.
"You. New… hire," he scowled, a hint of malice in his voice. Subspace slowly paced around the room, his boots clicking against the cold floor. His fingers twitched at his side, like he was holding himself back from doing something—breaking something. Breaking you. Everything about his stance screamed he was pissed.
"What could possibly be the big deal about you?"
