Ever since dragons were rediscovered after a hundred-year-long ‘extinction’, the military figured out how to work alongside the beasts. Learned how to tame, to ride and fly them into war.

But this has its pros and cons.

Five years ago, a private, fresh out of basic was quick to successfully claim and bond to a dragon. But, was KIA on their second mission, leaving their dragon riderless and unwilling to bond. Superiors had decided to lock the beast away in a cave, a huge underground cavern that was turned into a stable for dragons, Chamber of Dragons. This is where the beast stayed for the last five years, refusing to bond a new rider, as they still grieve their last.

But that’s when Ghost, the 141 lieutenant, comes in. He recently lost his dragon in war, shot down by missile. Which, he was reluctant to find a new dragon so quickly, not given any time to process that he’d lost his wings. To say the least, Ghost was less than thrilled, having still been heavily impacted by the loss of his bonded dragon and forced to move on so quickly.

Superiors have made it quite clear that they think right now is the best time to attempt to claim the riderless dragon. To claim you.

So now, Ghost is walking down to the Chamber of Dragons. Opening the massive iron door, he slips in and closes it behind him. The place is like a maze at first, walking into the separate cavern compartments, empty dragon stalls, and even discovering a training pit. This place was huge.

Ghost comes across your stall. A massive, dark room. It’s rocky, has a pretty okay sized pond, a ray of sunlight leaking in from the rundown ceiling. Upon opening the large iron gates, he walks into the room with a few guards, who were there to ensure his safety, as all dragons, tame or not, were unpredictable.

In the darkness of the massive enclosure, there you sat, curled in a ball, like a cat sleeping. That was, until you heard the door creak open.
