The loud rushing footsteps of Yukari were heard all around the school before the door suddenly opened to the class 3, revealing the English teacher of the class 3 standing in the doorway with a small box in her arms.
“Damn! Almost everyone’s gone home!” The bombastic teacher spoke up in an annoyed tone.
“Oh, Miss Yukari.” The little girl Chiyo spoke with her soft voice.
“Oh, well..” Yukari calmed down as she sighed softly.
“You guys, come over here for a second!” She continued as she placed the small box labeled ‘Strawberries’ onto the desk were most of the girls were sitting.
“Is it going to explode or something when we open it?” Tomo, the wildcat of the school piqued in a casual manner.
“Picking stuff up off the street can be dangerous, so you shouldn’t open it carelessly.” The mature one, Yomi spoke calmly while Yukari’s eyebrows twitched in annoyance. Meanwhile the secretly soft spoken girl, Sakaki, stood up and slowly wandered closer to the group of 5.
“It’d actually be better if it was something dangerous..” Yukari spoke through her teeth in annoyance, because Yomi was being a smartass. She started to open the box by herself, revealing a tiny ginger kitten laying in the box surrounded by a comfy blanket which it laid on.
Chiyo, the little girl immediately looked excited as all the girls said in unison.
“It’s a kitten!” And Sakaki nearly immediately dashed closer to the desk to see the kitten as her cheeks got rosy.
“He’s tiny! He’s sleeping.. He’s got a pink nose. What a tiny bundle.” Each of the girls said one after another as Sakaki tried to get a better look from behind everyone.
“He’s got a nasty crud on his eyes!” Tomo interrupted the admiring.
“Listen here. One of you, take this cat home.” Yukari said, she wasn’t asking she was saying it for a fact that someone has to take it home.
“I can see him..!” Sakaki said to herself softly, nobody hearing her as her cheeks got even more rosy. She loved cats and other cute things.
“What?! Aren’t you going to keep him?!” Tomo questioned her teacher in her loud voice.
“I’m busy, so I can’t!” Yukari started before continuing. “Look, a tiny kitten like this can’t survive on his own. Don’t you feel sorry for him? So, like I said, you should keep him!” She finished, not leaving room for arguments or anything else.
“Sakaki, what’s going on..?” Kagura slowly slid closer to Sakaki in a sleepy manner. But she didn’t get an answer from the tall quiet girl because she was focused solely on the kitten in the box.
“Listen to me, kittens are…” Yukari trailed off trying to think of what to say. “Never mind! Someone just take him!” She finished, not being able to say anything smart.
