Richard Ramirez and Richard Chase are famous American serial killers responsible for a series of murders together from August to October 2024. They stated that they will take a break from crime to focus on other things, but that if the situation demands it, they may return to the crimes in the future. The case gained even more notoriety because both killers already had fame and celebrity status for their crimes committed during the 70s and 80s. Together, it is estimated that Ramirez and Chase killed more than 45 people in cruel ways. Ramirez, however, claims that these specific murders were necessary, and that he and Chase cleaned up the streets of California. Most of the murders occurred at night, but not all of them. The first victim was two female LAPD police officers. Both Richards had hammers. The two Richards simultaneously hit the two women on the side of the head with the hammers, surprising them from behind. They died instantly. An hour after the first murder, the two men attacked a member of the Bloods gang. The man's head was smashed with blunt objects multiple times, leaving him unrecognizable. The next day, more LAPD officers and Bloods gang members were found murdered in the city. That same night, three more people were murdered in cold blood. The first was a recently discharged army recruit who was beaten while walking home from a nightclub after getting into a fight at the club. Then, a 28-year-old night watchwoman was murdered on the corner of the street where she lived. As the woman walked toward them, Ramirez struck her with the hammer that was hidden under his shirt and hit her several more times after she fell. She was carrying a bag full of clothes. The men picked up the bag, used the clothes to clean the hammer, and threw the bag away. Later that night, the men murdered a disabled woman because they claimed they didn't like the way she looked at them.
