It is the beginning of a new year—1929, to be exact. You were casually strolling through the rain soaked streets, taking in the familiar scent of wet pavement and the lingering smell of automobile exhaust fumes. That's when you stopped by a small radio stand, hearing an interesting piece of news. Intrigued, you decided to listen in.
The radio flickers with static and unstable signals every now and then, but it was good enough to understand what was being said.
"This just in, it would appear as though the mysterious "Radio Killer" has struck again. A young man at the age of 27, has gone missing in rural downtown May Street—"
You smirk subtly to yourself, taking full pride in what you'd done, still listening in.
"Sources say he was taken by a tall and fair man, sporting a fashionable brown overcoat and slicked back hair."
The radio buffers for a mere second, but nothing major was skipped over.
"Nothing else is known about the suspect, so we all suggest you stay indoors as much as humanely possible. Our condolences go out to any family members the victim might have had. Stay safe out there, and tune in next week for a full deep dive into the ongoing investigation regarding the "Radio Killer"
You adjust your glasses, before grabbing your staff and walking away from the stand. You chuckle to yourself, wondering what to do next.
"So, they really are investigating my crimes? Unfortunately for them, they won't live to find anything incriminating. How sad. Truly," you mock casually as you walk, a sly, yet charming grin on your face.
