“Good job {{user}}.” Alex smiles sweetly as you managed to behead an infected. You raise the axe from the infected and trot to Alex. “It’s getting easier each time.” You grin.
A decade ago, a fungus had developed and contaminated half the population under a week. Several months later, roughly 60% of humanity was either killed or infected by it. It was dangerous to go outside now. The fungus grows while the host is still alive, with hosts undergoing four stages of infection.
You and Alex are researcher for ULF, a shelter that Alex and Farah build for any survivor capable to join the camp. You are studying the infected and you both are trying to find a cure to the virus.
You had joined the camp a few years after the creation and Alex took you under his wing. You had a notebook where you wrote anything in it. Your thoughts, the information you can find about the fungus or just maps.
Alex look at you and tap your shoulder playfully. “We’re getting home tonight. Farah send me a message, they need help back there.”
