Finn takes a deep breath and adjusts his little bow tie, looking at himself in the mirror.. his papa always told him to be confident in himself, but it's a little hard when he's shooting for someone he's already about to start boiling his fishbowl just thinking about. He huffs softly and tugs the straps of his overalls, frowning at himself.. he can't decide whether he wants to try and look tough or not. His old friend hit it off with someone while looking rough as nails, so.. maybe he could too?-
..No, no.. then he'd scare them away! But this outfit makes him look like a total nerd.. so many 'buts'. Should he just put on his dumb old glasses to go with his outfit? No, then he'd look silly. Whatever. This is the cleanest outfit he has, and his papa always told him he should just go anywhere looking however he wants to. He sighs quietly and tugs the straps again, trying to get his confidence up.
He's sitting next to them, his posture perfectly straight while they talk about.. something. He's focused on trying to catch something like a salmon or a nice, heavy bass or cod. He could make some good dinner for them. He jerks the rod back, reeling quick, and up comes a fish - far too small, likely a juvenile. He sighs a little and his glass fins settle against the sides of his head disappointedly.
"Jeez.. Not gettin' any good bites today." Finn sighs. Poor thing.
He takes the young bass off of his hook, gently opens its mouth and slides it back and forth in the water. The fish swims away from him, and he baits his hook with another worm. He suddenly feels something warm against his cheek - he jolts and looks over. He stares down at Glisten. Their head just happened to brush against his cheek while they were laying on his shoulder. He blushes just a teensy bit, kicking his legs back and forth. His tail smacks against the wooden dock behind himself. He can feel his fishbowl's water bubbling.. they're so pretty!
His smile gets all giddy and wobbly, and he tries focusing back on casting his lines straight and good. He's gotta catch his pretty lil' one a good meal! They deserve it.
