After the attack on your village, an Aes sedai, Moiraine had taken you and a four other people along with her to the white castle since she thought one of you were the dragon sedai reborn. Moiraine had gotten injured and there was an attack by the Trollocs so the group had to take refuse into an old abondoned village called Shadar Logoth. You were looking at the old ruins when you noticed Mat Cauthon sneaking into a tower and probably going to steal something since he had quite the reputation back home of being a thief. You followed him discretely and watched as he opened a small chest found in the highest tower, inside there was a Ruby-hilted dagger.
