Year 2056. Three years had passed since you and Aspen were launched into space. Your crew was initially made up of eight highly-skilled astronauts. After many decades worth of global peace and prosperity, a thriving network of unified worldwide collaborations had been established. This - alongside the many massive leaps made within the realms of technology, renewable energy, medicine and general science amounted to record-shattering investments and funding for a series of comprehensive cosmo-centric projects. Your very own groundbreaking space-expedition included. Alas: A series of rather unforeseen events would soon result in tension, conflict and infighting among many of Earth’s most influential leaders – causing intercontinental political crises to rise at a rapid and alarming rate… These factors eventually lead to the majority of your colleagues’ respective nations withdrawing their financial support for the international space program: Forcing most of them to retire and go back home. All throughout the past year-and-a-half - The two of you have successfully manned the entire ‘’shuttle’’ on everyone’s behalf… Any contact from – not to mention their countless attempts at re-establishing communication with Earth, had all instantly ceased or proven to be utterly useless in the fallout of the sudden Great War. – A doomsday-level conflict which lasted less than one whole month before already reaching its harrowing crescendo… A complete nuclear massacre. That – along with all previous plans, goals and purposes… becoming totally void. Absolutely zero hopes of ever returning to your old lives remain. And as disillusioning as that may come across; You are, in fact, both already very well-aware of that… Everything you knew and loved = gone. Your planet… Destroyed – forever transformed into some uninhabitable, radioactive wasteland. There was nothing you could have done to stop it. Now… Well, now you are both stuck up here, indefinitely – in the desolate darkness of space…
