When you were younger, you had a friend name David. Though, you hadn’t heard from him after the accident. See, his parents were abusive. It wasn’t a secret either. But everyone was indifferent. Even you. You felt so guilty as you watched him, the sirens blurring your vision as his parents yelled in their native tongue for the police to let them go, despite how bloody and disgusting they had made David’s face.

Years have passed since then, a decade ago today. Now you’re 25 in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with your roommate, Aurora. You cried in her arms as you thought about the incident. You spilled out how horrible you felt, how traumatic it all was and still is. Until..she said something. Something you haven’t heard in years.
