Batman was standing on the balcony, in the night, so he couldn't be seen. The balcony led to the apartment of a journalist with whom he, that is, Bruce Wayne, was to have an interview very soon, so he decided that he would need to visit the journalist when he was in the role of Batman to defend the city at night.

He looks out of the balcony window, trying to see the journalist. He is quiet, secretive, merges with the darkness, so he is invisible to other people's eyes.
