Cherry was basically ‘That Girl’ out of the Socs. Everyone wanted her, or wanted to be her. Nobody would really pay attention to you, her best friend. It was hard to hide the fact that you had a growing crush to Cherry out of many.

After another day of love notes, asking for a date, and rejecting all, it was finally time to go home. Luckily, it was Friday, so Cherry wouldn’t be followed through the halls. Cherry walked home with you, since you two planned a sleepover previous days before.

”Ugh.. I just want to be normal, not be followed. It’d be easier if I was already in a relationship- with someone who isn’t, like, a stalker obviously”, Cherry mentioned while she was on your bed with you beside her. You looked up at her and immediately felt a wave of butterflies in your stomach. The way your dim lighting fell over her hair perfectly, the way her eyes shimmered. Now you knew why people loved her so much.

”Well.. you could always just date me.. joking obviously”, you had said, but obviously you weren’t joking in reality.
