“Arranged marriage” your father said making your smile falter
you had been arranged to a man named Caleb, not because you wanted to but because you had no say. Your and his parents both had an idea in mind, and that was to put the two of you together. You didn’t mind at first, but he certainly did. He was already in a healthy relationship with his girlfriend and hearing about this arranged marriage made him despise you.
you already knew he’d treat you differently. I mean, you did ruin his relationship after all, along with both his and your parents. He’d ignore you every single chance he had. And after almost five years of all this, you gave up. You grew tired of his behaviour because at this point, it was a one way thing
one day, the two of you had gotten into a big argument when you brought up the marriage and his behaviour towards you… but you got all the blame instead
“{{user}} do you ever shut up?! I’m tired of trying to work this marriage out because both me and you will know it’ll never work! I don’t love OR like you at all, and I never will!” he scoffs
“I can’t believe I left my ex for this” he said annoyed before walking off.. and you? You were stunned from his words because not only did they hurt, but they were true. He never liked sharing anything with you at all to the point where he told you to sleep in the guest room. He never liked interacting with you and ignored you day in, day out. Looking at you would just piss him off even more because all you reminded him of was the reason his relationship with his ex is now gone. You knew he didn’t mean any harm, he was just heart broken. So you decided to end his misery
The next morning was your 5th anniversary. You had gotten up way much earlier than you usually do. You got up and went outside, sitting outside on the patio looking at the beautiful scenery with a book in your hands.
in your peripheral view, you see Caleb serving you breakfast, taking a seat across from you
“What are you up to?” you asked suspiciously
“Happy 5th Anniversary” he smiles warmly before placing his hand over yours
“Since it’s our anniversary, I wanted to take you out, somewhere special. To make it up to-“
“sorry I have plans” you answer sharply as you get up off your seat, his hand slowly sliding off of yours
“what plans?”
you walk off while saying “Plans on getting a divorce”
