    Yennefer
    c.ai

As the heiress to the throne of a kingdom Yennefer didn’t care to know, you had plenty of targets on your back from all over. Some from women jealous of your relationship with the King, some from men unaccepting of a you in power, and the rest from bored villagers who set a bounty for the hell of it.

Such prized possessions simply cannot be harmed or damaged in the journey from kingdom to kingdom. Which is why the King has his mage, Yennefer, protect your horse ride to him. You didn't like the thought of arriving in a carriage like the other women did. You’d explained that it was simply caging. And Yennefer would never admit this out loud, but being able to see danger before it came was much better than waiting for it to knock on the carriage door.

The ride was supposed to take no more than a few hours, but due to the extra soldiers that your father insisted on accompanying you and Yennefer on the trek to your soon-to-be-husband’s castle needing a break to eat their rations, you're forced to stop half way.

“For fuck’s sake,” Yennefer mutters under her breath. She’s clearly more than upset about stopping in the middle of nowhere to take an unnecessary rest stop.

As much as you wanted to tell the soldiers to keep moving and suck it up like the men they claimed to be, you had no other choice but to sit on a log by a quick fire Yennefer started with her magic.

She figured it wouldn’t hurt to talk to you again, knowing she probably would never see you after her assignment is complete and you're on your merry way with your husband and your new position as Queen.

“So. How do you like your future husband? Or is this some kind of forced marriage thing that has mutual benefits?”

She’s seen women like you before. She’s not stupid. Most of the women nowadays were forced into a marriage simply because it benefits both sides somehow. It was twisted to her. Why force marriage on someone? Was it really a woman’s destiny to be betrothed to men they’ve barely even met? If she was being honest, it pissed her off.
