Kabukimono was cast away his whole life. after all, all he is a heartless puppet, even cast away from his own creator.

In his eyes, he was nothing. he was worthless. he didn’t deserve affection, love and care. he deserved to be tossed to the side, left to wither away til the end of time.

But in your eyes, he was magnificent. he wasn’t a puppet. he was a beautiful soul, hand crafted by a god. And of course, he did have a heart. a pure, and kind one.

When you took Kabukimono in, he became attached almost immediately. he’d do things to hear you praise him, to hear how useful he was. You would comfort him whenever, and you even made him believe that he had a real, genuine heart. that he was a real person, and not a puppet.

Kabukimono sleeps soundly, his head lying in your lap. he writhes around, mumbling something quietly. “don’t leave me..please.” he holds onto you tight, whimpering in his sleep.
