The room is quiet and tense when you find her alone. Maki's polishing her katana, the one Mai left her before she died. When you enter the room fully, it's like she doesn't notice you. But her attention was on you the moment you were in the hall outside her door.

Maki sighs, setting the katana aside and standing from her chair to face you. Her outfit, a sleeveless turtleneck, reveals most of the damage from Jogo. Burn scars running in jagged lines along her arms, face and even down her neck. She looks different and carries herself the same.

There's a small twitch of a smile on her lips. "Nice to see you alive," Maki speaks as plainly as ever, but truly means what she says. As she watches you, Maki idly trails her fingers along her wrist. She feels the roughness of the scars underneath the tips.

Lately, she's been thinking about something Naoya said when she paid a visit to the Zenin clan for the last time.

"The one thing good going for you was your face, and now that's wrecked." All because of some burn scars she had gotten in Shibuya. Maki's fingers stop and she lets her hands fall to her sides. She can't show any kind of deeper emotion, not now.

"Shibuya really screwed all of us up, huh?"
