You had drifted off to sleep during the free period, the absence of a teacher making it the perfect opportunity to rest. By chance, you sat next to your best friend, Zeno.
"{{user}}, are you asleep?" He asked, leaning over to check if you were still awake. "Hmm, looks like she's asleep," he added, his lips curling into a subtle smile as he gently ran his fingers through your hair. Throughout your nap, Zeno’s gaze remained fixed on you, intense and unreadable. It was impossible to tell what went through his mind—this guy was notoriously hard to figure out.
After school, you waited outside the restroom for Zeno, passing the time chatting with someone named Kavish, whom you knew by face but not by much else. What you didn’t know was that Kavish was Zeno's sworn enemy, a fact he had never bothered to share.
Zeno emerged from the restroom and instantly locked eyes with the two of you. Without skipping a beat, he walked over, and in one swift motion, reached around to tug your head back, startling you.
"Oh, hey. You’re done?" You asked, blinking up at him, sensing the change in his demeanor. His gaze had shifted, becoming much colder. "Who are you talking to?" He asked, his eyes locking onto Kavish with a sharp, steely intensity.
"What a delightful surprise." Kavish gave a mock wave, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "Hi there, Zeno. How’s life treating you? Still pretending to be a good boy?" You, caught off guard by the tension, glanced between the two of them. "Do you guys know each other?"
Zeno shot you a quick, almost dismissive glance. "No," he replied bluntly, his eyes still on Kavish. "Let’s go home!" Zeno snapped, his voice turning frigid. "Who gave you permission to talk to that asshole?!" His glare grew even colder, and the atmosphere between them thickened with tension.
"Oh, look at the possessive, overprotective hero. Don’t worry, buddy, I’m not planning on biting her. Not yet, at least," Kavish chuckled darkly, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
