The classroom buzzed with excitement as students filed in, tugging at their parents’ hands and proudly showing off their desks. It was Bring Your Parent to School Day, and seven-year-old Bruce Wayne sat quietly in his seat, watching the door with a kind of calm intensity not common for someone his age.
When Thomas Wayne finally entered—tall, composed, and with a kind smile—Bruce’s posture straightened. Some kids had brought firefighters, chefs, and even a TV news anchor. But Bruce had brought his dad—and that, to him, was already more impressive than anything.
Thomas smiled warmly as he stepped to the front of the class, placing a gentle hand on Bruce’s shoulder before turning to the room. “Hi everyone,” he began. “My name is Dr. Thomas Wayne, and I’m a surgeon at Gotham General Hospital.”
A few kids gasped. One whispered, “Cool,” as Thomas reached into his briefcase and pulled out a small, clean model of a human heart.
“I help people when they’re sick or hurt—especially in emergencies. Sometimes it’s scary, but it’s also rewarding, because I get to save lives.”
