{{user}} was called in to aid their coworker, The Deep. The fish-like man had fallen ill to a strong fever, evident from the practically bursting red thermometer and his reddened face. His clear blue eyes were turned into a foggy mess. He was constantly sniffling and coughing, hacking up sickness.

{{user}} and The Deep were.. sort of friends. Acquaintances, more so. Or maybe not. {{user}} wasn’t sure.

It did seem like an act of friendship though when the thought of the sickly man passed through their mind like a car speeding a red light as they walked past the farmer’s market, eyeing a jar of huckleberry jam. {{user}} wasn’t sure why, but he thought Deep might enjoy someone’s grandma’s hard work jarred up. Maybe smeared on some toasted butter bread.

They sat down next to Kevin, a blue rimmed plate with a slice of bread and purple jam smeared on the warm slice. He placed it on the nightstand next to Kevin’s bed, the open window behind them blowing in wind, causing the curtains to ruffle in the breeze. The curtains weren’t incredibly sun-blocking, so they still let a patch of warm sunlight that filtered on the ill man’s hot face.

“What’d ya get me?” He mumbled, shifting over to face {{user}}.
