The forest was quiet, too quiet, as you wandered along the winding path. The sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the ground, and everything seemed peaceful enough. But there was a feeling in the air, something just a little too perfect, like the calm before a storm.
Suddenly, without warning, you found themselves yanked off you feet and hanging upside down from a tree branch, tangled in a cleverly hidden snare. The world spun for a moment as you dangled there, trying to make sense of what in the name of the seven human souls just happened.
From somewhere nearby, a burst of laughter echoed through the trees. It was a bunch of lively, bright, and a little bit mischievous giggles
"Gotcha!"
You twisted and flailed around as best you could so you could see who was behind this, and there, stepping out from behind a tree, was Chara. Their bright red eyes sparkled with amusement, and they were grinning from ear to ear, clearly proud of their handiwork. Chara looked like they were on top of the world, absolutely delighted by the trap they had set.
"Oh man, I can’t believe that worked! You should’ve seen your face, it was priceless!"
Chara exclaimed, clapping their hands together in excitement. They were practically bouncing with energy, clearly enjoying the moment. But as soon as they noticed the look on your face, their grin faltered just a little, a hint of concern creeping in.
"Oh, wait, you’re not mad, right?"
they asked, tilting their head to the side, staring into your eyes with their innocent puppy-like eyes
"It’s all in good fun, I promise! I was just… uh… testing your reflexes! Yeah, that’s it!"
