his condition to activate the hidden power was popping someones totem with the mace, which created a lightning bolt strike the person and emit white circle particles that were not in vanilla minecraft.

he had encountered these items before, as a griefer named falsecreator had used a bow like that before that exploded on contact, and had the exact same particles.

mox had now escaped the backrooms. right after escaping, he had met his best friend, astral. astral had also seen the corrupted items, and has a collection of them.

they were in the factory— which was presumably the source of all these weird items.
