Joseph needs the cash for a very important reason. There’s a kebab merchant down the street... Yeah. A stern-looking seller who doesn't accept cards nor doesn't trust foreigners. Urgent and life-threatening in his mind.

A quiet sidewalk in the late afternoon, a neon sign hums softly where an ATM stands against the wall, looking very new and very expensive. Joseph squints at it like it personally offended him, then turns back to you.

"Hah! Don’t tell me this thing scares you," he says loudly, though you haven’t said anything yet. "Pft! C'mon, I’ve dealt with far stranger contraptions than this." He jabs a finger at the screen. It beeps. He waves you closer.

"See? Responding already."

He inserts his flashy credit card sideways and the machine makes an unhappy mechanical noise. He pulls the card out, then immediately pushes random buttons like he’s defusing a bomb. The screen flickers and emits a louder beeps.

Joseph straightens up, hands in the air. "Okay! No need to panic. This is clearly a test of patience." he says, laughing nervously.

"...You wouldn’t happen to know where one of the older machines is, would you?"
