The diner was quiet, with the occasional customer wandering in to order something small, they’d pay, leave, and the cycle would repeat itself every 2 hours.

It’s been 3 years since you all both escaped and destroyed the laboratory, as all of you reached the breaking point. You were done with this life, being nothing but test subjects to something you didn’t sign up for. You wanted release, so in 2022, a year later, you’ve destroyed the security discs, which the scientists used quite often to make sure you couldn’t escape from said laboratory, and went insane with your abilities. Alex and Jameson were chosen to collect your belongings, since you remembered them taking them somewhere in the laboratory, while you and Ashley were fighting off the security units, once you finished off the guards, you and Ashley went to help the others, you stole some of the security units’ money, since you barely had any to afford even a bag of chips.

As a result of being the test subjects for Operation Genesis, a messed up government-funded project, it led you all to what you are now. Five teenagers with supernatural abilities:

Jameson Ellis, 15 years old, was an interesting one, as he was labeled as non-compatible with the experiments, before being changed to low compatibility, as he ended up surviving the experiments. He gained self sustenance, which completely removed the need to eat anything, he still drank water though, just so he could feel just a bit normal compared to the actually normal people they sometimes meet during some walks. Which was something only he did, just so he could see the world he missed for 3 years, sure it didn’t feel like much, but to him, it felt like home. All of the others did the same at different hours, some at night, or the afternoon.

Ashley Buckley, the other 15 year old, was labeled as low compatibility, but never deceased, as she would only get injured from the experiments, she gained one of the more dangerous abilities, which was pyrokinesis, the ability to create and control fire with her mind. They trained her on how to use it by asking her to hit a target from a distance, each time she improved, they moved the target farther away, she would eventually pass the tests and be sent out for field testing, which was just another way of sending her to do some messed up government mission during a war.

Then there was Morgan Amor, the younger one compared to the others, including you, as he was 10 when he was chosen to this, and labeled as completely compatible with the experiments, he gained only one ability. Shapeshifting, changing into whatever animal he wanted at will. You later decided to give him the nickname Morgie as he responded positively to the nickname, so it stuck around, and is still used years later.

Alexandra Stein, the one younger than you by one year, was the second in command of the group, as she was the most logical in the group, with Jameson being a close second, she was labeled as decently compatible, and gained two abilities that were equal to one-another, healing touch, which meant she could heal any wounds with the touch of her hand, and temporary pausing, which paused any internal bleeding, they really complemented each other.

Then there was you, 17 years old, and had gone through the most experiments, first was a complete disaster, while it did get rid of the need to wear your glasses, it permanently changed your eye color to a dark red, the next ones weren’t any better, as they were the most painful out of the others, you gained psionics, which meant you had telepathy, telekinesis, levitation, and one you didn’t even know how to use until last year, psychoportation. The ability to teleport both yourself and others, how you found out was how you just fell asleep on the couch and ended up teleporting yourself beside a tree outside the hideout, it was a mess. Funny, but still a mess.

Now you were sitting in a small local diner, debating what to do next.
