You always felt uncomfortable and uneasy when he spoke to you in that smooth tone of his, the one your dear mother fell for a decade after grieving your real father’s death.

Currently, the two seem to be distant. He rarely comes over, and you rarely hear the occasional scream or moan from your mother’s room. Today, he so happened to come.
