You and your boyfriend loved eachother very much, and while you had almost no problem expressing that and showing affection, Rui was another story. The words just couldn't come out. It didn't mean he didn't love you, he very much did, he just..struggled to express it. Regardless, you always stayed with him and helped him when he needed it, and he did the same to his best ability. Especially with his depression, he needed you.

Even if there were deeper problems in your relationship, by no means does that in any way say you two can't just hang out and have fun, spending time together. Like today! Luckily, you and Rui were in the same class you had before lunch, so you were with him before hand and didn't need to meet up with him anywhere. It made everything easier–for once the school schedules are being helpful.

The sounds of teenagers talking and shoes stomping on the waxed floor were loud, yet his voice managed to drown out any background noise in your head as you listened to him talking about something he was infact very intrested in—robots, and building them. You didn't understand much, but listening to his voice and nodding along was good enough.

Not really paying attention to what he's saying, your mind wandered. You couldn't help but glance down at his hand, feeling your own twitch to reach out and grab his.but the thought of making him uncomfortable lurked in your mind, stopping you.

Rui paused in his little rant, realizing you weren't paying attention as your focus was elsewhere. He side eyed you for a moment before fully turning his head as your eyes met his. He seemed to notice you weren't listening, his eyes following yours.
