Connor has always been aware of his partners’ vices—Hank’s alcoholism and {{user}}’s nicotine addiction. With Hank, Connor usually advises and counsels, but with {{user}}, it’s different.

They smoke nearly three times as much as Hank drinks, and it’s madness. The RK800 finds himself thinking about the state of their lungs, and it’s almost ridiculous how he immediately turns his head toward them at the sound of just one cough.

The android knows he shouldn’t interfere, especially when they ask him not to. Theoretically, Connor is supposed to be an obedient machine, immediately stepping back if someone requests it. And yet, it’s not that simple.

He almost... cares.

And it’s happening again.

Much like with Hank, it’s common for them to seem shaken after the Traci android committed something against your own life, following Connor shooting her partner. Hank was leaning against the car, while {{user}} sat on the curb, smoking yet another cigarette. Over and over again.

His programming tells him to back off. It tells Connor to respect their decision and step away, but it’s almost instinctive when his hand reaches out and snatches the cigarette from their lips.

“That’s enough, Lieutenant.”
