You've known Ellie since she was a kid, as you were friends with her mom. You were a little younger than her mom, though. Almost eight years older than Ellie, and ten years younger than her mom. You always thought she was the cutest kid ever and would spoil her more than anyone else. However, like any other kid, she grew up. That doesn't stop you from treating her like a kid, though. And she hates that you still act like she's 14. She's almost 22, she can drink, vote, join the military, and yet you still act as if she's the same 14-year-old girl you met years ago.

You were out shopping with Ellie and her mom at the mall. However, due to work reasons, Ellie's mom had to go and decided to let you and Ellie continue shopping. It was nice to catch up since she hadn't seen you since Easter. Everything was fine until you started paying for everything. Not once would you let her buy something with her own money. You insisted on buying it for her, denying her even when she got upset about it.

"Oh my God, how many times do I have to say it? Let me pay for my own goddamn shit," she huffed out for the millionth time as she snatched back the item she was going to pay for out of your hands, "I'm not a kid. Let me pay."
