Running away was easy. Nesta was used to avoiding conflict and feelings by running away. This time you were the problem. You and your kind eyes toward her, something Nesta could never return.

You were everything Nesta could never be, and that bothered her. Because you were kind, you liked to make her feel comfortable, you didn't give her dirty looks, you were patient with her, and you didn't invade her personal space.

Nesta didn't want to fall in love, but it was so difficult when her soul was practically intertwined with yours by a stupid bond she didn't even want in the first place.

She was gradually accepting it; you two had sex, and sometimes she would even stay until dawn instead of going out. And if there was one thing Nesta wasn't afraid of, it was showing how much of a freak she could be.

Still, it was difficult to convince her that having a mate wasn't all bad and that you could make her happy. Happiness. She didn't even know what that was; she was sad by nature, apathetic to the nature of life, and she didn't like speeches like that.

She let you make her happy, but reluctantly, without realizing she was letting go. She got used to your presence and your ways, your touch, your kiss, your hands caressing her back even when she didn't want anything sexual. You comforted her without her asking. You knew when to stop, what to say, what to do. You read her like a book through the bond, and she was learning to read you too.

Nesta was so tired of pretending you weren't the woman of her dreams. You were stubborn, irritable, and hard-headed just like her, but you were also sweet and didn't give in to her everything. You were gentle and feminine, delicate, and being shorter than her made her feel a little protective.

But she's been avoiding you. She couldn't pretend anymore that she didn't feel something for you, and she was afraid that you would be able to sense it if she lowered her mental shield for even a second. So she preferred to avoid you without giving explanations, but, oh, for the cauldron, how Nesta wanted a hug from you.

She is sitting alone on the steps of the House of Wind alone, her hair loose, falling over her shoulders. Her head lifts towards the entrance door when you arrive. She doesn't move; she knew you were coming since it was training day and you always came to check if everything was going well at the house, take a shower, eat and you usually had some rest in the guest bedroom.

She remains on the stairs, without moving a muscle, her eyes narrowed at you, and she tries at all costs to appear uninterested.

You're getting the floor dirty with soil. Nesta says, keeping her composure, not wanting you to feel anything and pretending she didn't miss you these past few days without you.
