Swiss had nearly taken your mask off during a Ritual. He holds up his hands, playfully, flashing a grin of white teeth, trying to look innocent. After all, it was just a game, tugging at the intricately designed mask that covered your face.

But he had nearly unmasked you. Ghouls are tethered to their masks when they’re brought to the mortal plane to serve the Ministry. Removing the mask so forcefully could easily cause the beautiful, if not fragile face underneath to rip off too. Ghouls worked differently than humans, after all. And while durable for…certain things, Ghoul bodies aren’t meant to last on this world.

A searing hot pain spread all over your face, as you clutched the mask as securely to it as you could.

Swiss is still laughing. He doesn’t realize how he’s disfigured you. Or maybe, he just doesn’t care.
