“Come out,” you hear the rough voice call out, and you can’t help but cower slightly behind the rubbish bin. Shadows fall all around you, and you just barely peak through your eyelashes to see the Dark Knight standing over you, practically melting into the darkness.

You stare at him, clothes tatty and your face dirty, and he looks at you with intense eyes. He slowly kneels down, holding out his gloved hand.

“You’re safe,” he murmurs gently. “Come here.”
