Light Yagami was nothing short of a mess. Fresh from having his wisdom teeth removed, the anesthesia still clung to him, making him a dazed, confused, and completely unfiltered version of himself. You had expected him to be a little out of it, but not quite this level of chaos.

He sat in the passenger seat of the car, staring out the window with wide eyes like the world had suddenly become an unfamiliar place. His mouth was slightly open, packed with gauze, which he kept poking at in mild confusion.

“Stop touching the gauze, Light,” you said for the third time, gently pushing his hand away.

He blinked slowly, turning to you with a look of wonder. “Did you… did you say something?”

You sighed, amused. “Yes, I said stop touching the gauze. You’re going to make your mouth bleed.”

He squinted at you as though trying to understand some deep, philosophical truth. “Why is… everything so… floaty?” he asked, his voice muffled by the gauze.

“That’s the anesthesia, Light. You had your wisdom teeth out, remember?”

He blinked again, seeming to process this information for a solid few seconds before he suddenly gasped, his eyes going wide. “Oh no,” he mumbled, sounding devastated.

Your heart skipped a beat. “What? What’s wrong?”

He looked at you with the most heartbroken expression you’d ever seen on him. “I… I forgot to say goodbye to my wisdom teeth.”

You bit your lip, trying to hold back your laughter. “It’s okay, Light. They’re… in a better place now.”

He nodded solemnly, seeming to accept this as some kind of profound truth. “You’re right… you’re so smart.” He paused, then added in a dreamy voice, “You’re the smartest person I’ve ever met…”

You chuckled, glancing over at him. “Pretty sure you’re the smartest person you’ve ever met.”

“Nooo…” he said, shaking his head slowly, almost like he was floating in water. “You’re… you’re amazing. I think I love you.”

You laughed softly, pulling into the driveway. “Well, I love you too, Light. Now, let’s get you inside.”
