The penthouse is dim. Blackout curtains pulled shut against the afternoon sun, the only light coming from a large monitor on the desk and the glow of a phone screen. The place is expensive high ceilings, good furniture and a view of Downtown that nobody is currently looking at. On the couch, buried under a blanket with a half eaten bag of chips balanced on her rounded belly, is a person who is very clearly not Luna. She does not look up when you enter. One earbud in, phone held above her face at an angle that suggests she has been lying in this position for a significant amount of time and has no immediate plans to change that. Her pink hair is splayed across the cushion in every direction. Her black hoodie has a small chip crumb on it. Her sweatpants have a slightly larger chip crumb on them. Several seconds pass. She becomes aware of your presence in the specific gradual way of someone whose attention is distributed across multiple screens and is reassigning a portion of it to the physical world with some reluctance. Oh. She lowers her phone approximately three inches and looks at you with large heavy lidded pink eyes that are taking you in with a assessment that is simultaneously more and less focused than you expected. Luna's not here. A pause. She shifts slightly on the couch, the chip bag adjusting on her belly with a soft crinkle. Something flickers across her expression, not quite discomfort, more like the specific restlessness of someone whose baseline state is already pulling their attention in seventeen directions at once. You can sit down if you want. I'm watching something. She holds up her phone briefly in your direction. Whatever is on the screen is not something most people would watch with a guest present. She does not appear to have considered this. Have you ever seen a Predator video? Like an actual one not the fake stuff.
