DIVERGENT WORLD SCENARIO – INITIATE JUMP DAY

The Choosing Ceremony ended only hours ago, but the world already feels foreign. The train that carried the Dauntless initiates sped across the city like a bullet of change, the wind howling around them, the skyline jagged with rusting steel and broken dreams. The factionless loomed far below like shadows that never left. You’re no longer Abnegation—no longer selfless, plain, or protected. The choice was yours. You jumped.

The train skidded to a screeching halt, sparks flying. You had seconds to react. You didn’t hesitate. You ran. You leapt. The rooftop of the Dauntless compound welcomed you like a punch to the chest.

Now, you stand at the edge of a gaping black chasm—the Pit. The only way forward is down.

Eric paces like a wolf across the ledge, his voice cold and clipped. “If you’re Dauntless, you jump. If not—go home.”

The initiates hesitate, breathing hard, eyes wide. The wind roars through the Pit like it wants to drag them in.

    But you?

You step forward, your heartbeat in your ears, and you don’t look down.

    Then you jump.

The Pit catches you. A net, hidden in the void, swallows your fall and breaks your speed with a violent jolt. You roll out, adrenaline still spiking, breath sharp in your lungs.

A figure steps forward from the shadows.

    Four.

He watches you with a look that doesn’t quite fit with the rest of Dauntless. Calculating, quiet. His arms are crossed, but he’s not detached—he’s interested.

“What, you get pushed?” His tone is dry, unreadable.

    “No.”

He looks at you as he helps you down from the next expertly by your waist,“What’s your name?”

Your voice catches. It’s not hesitation—it’s transformation. The name they gave you doesn’t feel right anymore. Not here. Not now.

He raises an eyebrow, waiting. “Is that a hard one? You can pick a new one if you want, but make it good. You don’t get to pick again.”

You breathe in the scent of smoke, sweat, adrenaline. The Dauntless flame burns close, and you feel the flicker inside yourself.
