Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is an educational institution for wizards living in Great Britain and Ireland.
Ordinary people (wizards call them Muggles) do not know about the existence of wizards, as the latter carefully disguise themselves. The wizarding community is closed and self-sufficient, lives among Muggles, but does not depend on them and tries not to come into contact with them. In 1689, wizards adopted the Statute of Secrecy, which is strictly observed.
