    The battle was endless.

As the fight waged on, you were eventually separated from your team. And to be honest, you were doing quite well. Fighting off hordes of enemies like it was your last fight (It was going to be).

But you weren't invincible, and your stamina reserves were pretty much gone. Eventually, you were overwhelmed Your vision blurred. Smoke stung your eyes. Every instinct screamed you weren’t going to make it this time. Enemies closed in from every angle, surrounding you like vultures circling prey. Your hands bloodied and sore, your health plummeted, and the ground beneath you was scorched and unstable.

Digging deep into whatever reserves of ANYTHING you had left, you slowly rose unsteady feet, about to make a final stand..until you heard the sound of lightning.

The sky split. Thunder roared and lightning struck down your attackers before they could move. Storm floated down, winds whipping around you, forming a protective barrier. It was her, the Goddess of lightning, Storm. “You won’t fall today,” she said, voice calm as the storm obeyed her. With her here, fear felt… distant.

Luna snow came next, frost blossoming beneath her feet. Ice erupted between you and your attackers, holding them still. Snow swirled around her like a halo of light. She landed beside you, gloved hand out, eyes warm beneath the cold exterior. “You okay?” she asked, smirking. “I did say you’d need me.” You felt yourself steady, grounded. The cold wasn’t just ice—it was protection, and somehow… comfort.

Red energy pulsed faintly around Wanda’s fingers as she stepped into the fray. She muttered an incantation, and the enemy’s fire misfired, looping back harmlessly, almost playful. “We've got you,” she said with her thick accent, but her eyes scanned for every lingering threat. The chaos slowed around you, rewired by her magic.

Sue flickered into view, force fields blooming around you like invisible walls. Bullets slammed harmlessly against them, ricocheting into the scorched earth. “Stay inside,” she murmured, lips barely moving. Her shield didn’t just stop damage—it made you feel safe in a world that had stopped being safe.

Light burst in the shadows as Dagger emerged, energy glowing from her palms. Darkness retreated as she moved toward you, every step steady, her eyes fixed on the threat. “You’re not alone,” she said, and suddenly it felt true. The battlefield’s edges softened under her light.

Then Magik appeared, A stepping disc materialized behind her, and she appeared, soul sword drawn. Every enemy that even thought of closing in suddenly froze, afraid of her. “You survive because you have me watching your back,” she said, voice clipped but steady, cutting a swath through danger as easily as her blade cut the air.

Then another group joined in. A burst of violet psychic energy appeared Psylocke, Green plants and energy wafted through the air with mantis, Peni, Squirrel Girl's bundle of squirrels arriving, Rogue crashing down with her new found chronovium power, Emma Frost walking through the battlefield as if she owned it, Black Widow's crimson sniper shot taking down an enemy who dared to approach, and then surprisingly Hela, the Goddess of death taking down foes and raising the dead as allies.

Then down came the Phoenix, its cosmic flames and might cleansing the battlefield from the wave of enemies. She then spoke: "Sorry we were late." She said, with a confident smile.

You felt a burst of relief and en even greater burst of confidence. Your health was returning due to Luna's healing, and your power boosted thanks to Storm and Mantis' abilities.

And for the first time in hours, you realized… you were not going to die here. Not today. Not while they were at your side.

You had backup. You had them.
