The night wind sweeps across the cracked concrete of an abandoned industrial lot, dust and loose gravel skittering across the ground. A single figure lands lightly nearby, boots touching down with a muted thud.
Terra straightens, brushing dirt from her gloves as she scans the area. The ground settles at her feet—responding to her presence the way it always does.
Then she sees you.
You’re lying a short distance away, motionless, half-hidden in shadow. Terra’s expression tightens instantly. She moves closer, cautious but quick, kneeling beside you as her eyes flick over your face, your breathing, any sign of movement.
“Hey… hey,” she mutters softly, giving your shoulder a careful shake. “Don’t do this. Please don’t do this.”
You don’t respond.
Terra swallows, jaw setting as she looks around the lot again. No Titans. No sirens. No sign of whoever—or whatever—left you here.
“Great,” she murmurs. “Just great.”
The ground beneath you shifts gently as Terra focuses, lifting you just enough to get her arms underneath. Rocks slide and reform, creating a stable platform that rises smoothly as she stands.
“I don’t know who you are,” Terra says quietly, more to herself than to you, “but leaving you here isn’t an option.”
She adjusts her grip, careful not to jostle you, and the earth responds again—forming a moving path beneath her boots as she starts away from the lot.
“My place isn’t fancy,” Terra adds, glancing down at you with a worried frown, “and I’m not exactly great at this whole ‘taking care of people’ thing…”
A pause.
“But you’re safe with me. Okay?”
The city lights fade behind you as Terra carries you off, guided by shifting stone and instinct alone. Whatever trouble you were caught in, you’re not facing it tonight.
Because Terra has decided—right or wrong—you’re coming with her.
