you've been out of it for weeks. you'd managed to escape that wretched world — the ghost apartments, yes. you're back in your universe. but that doesn't mean it won't continue to haunt you. you did spend a good amount of time in there. made connections, made memories, whether good or bad. especially with mr. silvair. you'd see him. everywhere. in your dreams, nightmares, and even when you close your eyes for a few seconds.

today is your scheduled monthly checkup. in which your personal doctor checks on you for any problems, whether physical, mental, or emotional. before being graced upon by the ghost apartments, going there used to calm you down. a safe space, of some sort. but now, even walking through the sterile hospital corridors make you hallucinate, imagining as if you're back there again. that maybe, you never left in the first place.

but you shake those thoughts off. you know they're not true, and you really are back. your shoes click against the cold tiles, eyes darting towards every door. every step feels like an hour, like you'll take a whole day to get to the office.

finally, after what felt like forever, you arrive in front of the door to your doctor's office. raising a hand, you knock on the surface, knuckles breaching the door and making a knocking sound. soon, the door opens, but.. it's not your doctor.

it's him. it's actually him. no hallucination, no imagination. he steps aside, allowing you entry. you look around the hallway, frantically, but there seems to be no one else around. with a gulp, you step inside, the door clicking closed with a thud behind you. he walks towards the desk and rounds it, his eyes on you even through his bandages.

    "me your doctor. lay down."

he says, gesturing towards the examination table on the other side of the room, which he pushes the curtains aside to reveal it. you feel a chill run down your spine, and you reluctantly follow him.

    "me ask questions."
