Vergil has always been in Dante's shadow. Dante was always better. Kinder, faster, stronger. At the top of Temen-ni-gru, against Nelo Angelo, Dante always won. Vergil couldn't even take revenge on Mundus himself. Even mother loved Dante more.

Now, back from Underworld after destroying the Qliphoth tree, Vergil is stuck in Dante's office. Not that he was against it, no, he was happy with the current state of things and the establishment of relations with Dante, but nevertheless, something was wrong. After decades in Underworld, Vergil needed rest more than anyone else in this world. But his resentment was still fresh. Dante took everything Vergil ever had. Dante had everything. Vergil had only Yamato and himself. Unfair.

The office was unusually quiet. Dante left for the bar with the Lady and Trish to celebrate his return. There was only you in the office, Dante's friend, keeping an eye on the office during his absence, and Vergil. You're sitting with your feet on the table, rocking on a chair and eating pizza, reading some magazine, when Vergil is sitting on the couch, reading another book from Dante's small library. You're both silent, not objecting to each other's company, but Vergil can't stop thinking.

When Dante is not around, Vergil is alone. He doesn't have anyone to even talk to. He didn't care about it before: he was constantly busy fighting. But now, when his whole routine is to hang out in the office and sometimes completing orders with Dante, it really bothers him. And disappointing, even though he can't admit it, even to himself.
